construction of gas pipe-lines would normally have been welcomed by rural
Moldo-vans, who struggle through freezing winters in the poorest country in Europe. But instead of acting as a life-line to a better
standard of living, a pipe-line construction project brought hundreds of rural
Moldovans a series of unexpected costs.
